The Mother of All Martial Arts
Kudo is a full-contact Japanese combat sport that trains you to strike, clinch, throw and finish on the ground — all in one system. At Q Combat, it is the discipline everything else is built around.
Full Contact • Super Safe Headgear
Kudo is a Japanese hybrid martial art founded by Azuma Takashi. It was created to answer a simple question: what would the most realistic — yet safe — combat sport look like? The answer combines the most effective techniques of Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into one complete fighting method.
Unlike arts that specialise in a single range, a Kudo athlete learns to fight at every distance: long-range kicks and punches, close-range knees and elbows, clinch work, throws and takedowns, and finishing techniques on the ground. Moving smoothly between them is the heart of the art.
Safety is part of the design. Athletes compete in a traditional dogi with the “Super Safe” face-shield headgear, which allows full-contact striking while protecting the face. That balance of realism and safety is why Kudo is 100% useful for real-world self-defence and still suitable for students of all ages.
From a small dojo in northern Japan to a recognized combat sport in India.
Azuma Takashi opens Daido Juku in Sendai, Japan, blending full-contact Karate with throws and grappling to build a more realistic combat style.
The art is renamed Kudo, reflecting its growth from a single style into an international sport with its own rules, grading and world-level competition.
Kudo is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and governed nationally by KIFI (Kudo International Federation India).
As a member of the Kudo Association of Karnataka, Q Combat has trained athletes who have represented India and won medals at World and Asian Championships.
A structured, progressive syllabus that takes you from fundamentals to competition.
Balance, guard, distance management and movement — the foundation for everything that follows.
Punches, kicks, knees and elbows drawn from Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing and Muay Thai, with power and accuracy.
Controlling an opponent at close range, setting up knee strikes and creating openings for throws.
Judo-inspired throws and sweeps to take the fight to the ground safely and with control.
Submissions, joint locks and controlled finishing techniques from top and bottom positions.
Strength, endurance and supervised sparring that build the fitness and composure to perform under pressure.
Designed by science to be realistic, fair and safe.
Athletes wear the dogi, the Super Safe face-shield headgear, gloves and groin protection, so full contact stays safe.
Categories are based on a physical index (height + weight), so athletes are matched fairly by build.
Strikes, throws and ground finishes all score, rewarding complete fighters rather than specialists.
Techniques are scored as Koka, Yuko, Waza-ari or Ippon, depending on their impact and control.
